Life Lately: January 2024
While many are joking that January has felt like the longest month ever, I have been embracing all that January has to offer. What I love most about January is how (relatively) quiet it is. After the hustle and bustle of the ‘ber months (September through December), January allows me to take a breath. For the past five years, I have grounded the month in the Yoga With Adriene 30-Day Journey. There is something about coming to the mat every single day that just feels good.
The first few days of this month were all about rest. I had a break from both work and school, and spent much of my time in quiet contemplation, at home and at Release Well-being Center. I wrote, I read, and I reflected. I had the mental space to be creative and started my podcast, The Within Us Podcast!
After that first week, the month picked up and began to move fast. I returned to work, started my full-time coursework in my graduate program, had a weekend with my best friend and her husband, led two MamaConnect gatherings, and had a few meaningful dates with friends and my husband. All that coupled with lots of mom-ing! February is a whirlwind in our household, and I’m excited to dive in.
Watching/Reading/Listening
I read a lot in the first week of January. I read Organized Living, How To Heal Your Life, In Five Years, The Housemaid, and None Of This is True. I’ve been mostly head down in my many textbooks since then, but I’m wrapping up a few others that I’ll share in February. My TV has been limited, but I am finally watching season 3 of The Morning Show, the new season of True Detective, season 2 of The Afterparty and watched the Twin Flames documentary on Netflix - wild. I’m listening to my usual podcast circuit, and focused on creating content for my own this month!
What I’m Loving
Beyond my focus of Yoga With Adriene this month, I went to a few new-to-me spots in Central Mass. The first, is Purple Rose Home and I honestly can’t believe I have been missing out on this super sweet store. When Amanda was in town, we went to Broken Creek Vineyard for the first time - so fun! And I had lunch at The Fix Burger Bar - my new favorite spot for burgers.
I have one month left in this 101 in 1001 - I can hardly believe it! I need to update progress on quite a few things from the past two months - I’m getting there. I’ll share a dedicated post soon with my process for preparing for my next list.
