Life Lately: November 2022

With my best friend’s at Amanda’s Rehearsal Dinner!

As I sit down to write under the light of my Christmas Tree, I am reminded of how important it is to pay attention to transitions. The end of October was filled with all of the spooky Halloween traditions, including Will’s first Trick or Treating adventure (he lasted about 10 minutes). As November began, I really leaned into the stillness of late autumn. I didn’t rush to decorate for the holidays and instead, spent time going inward and enjoying the little moments. We started this month with several kids birthday parties, which still feel like a novelty after years of relative isolation. Then, it was time for my best friend’s wedding - which was one of my favorite moments of all-time: the food was delicious, the dancing was so much fun (despite my broken toe!), the location and people were perfection, and I think I nailed my speech. Beyond the wedding, we had a blast at the Rehearsal Dinner and the post-wedding Wine Tasting & Tour. Just a few days later, it was time for Thanksgiving. Last year I was so exhausted, being just a few weeks postpartum - so this year felt good, and it was so nice to spend time with family. Despite several bouts of sickness for both kids over the course of the month, I must say - I am feeling grateful for all of it.

Now, as we look forward - I am absolutely ready for what’s next. I LOVE Christmas, the holiday season, and all that comes with it. While things aren’t quite “normal” it feels like each year we are inching towards it. So no matter what comes our way, I’m determined to enjoy the good moments, be present during the hard ones, and do my best to spread holiday cheer to everyone along the way.

Watching/Reading/Listening: This month I completely (and unapologetically) binged Love is Blind Season 3, and started White Lotus Season 2, From Scratch, and a few network shows - including my annual favorite, Holiday Baking Championship. I’ve started a few books, including Still Life, Wrong Place Wrong Time, and Seven Principles. My podcast rotation included a lot of catching up on We Can Do Hard Things and Crime Junkie, and I started Your Own Backyard, which had been recommended in several places, including one o my favorite blogs, Lemon Stripes.

The Workbook: Just this week, I launched my first-ever Workbook, based on my recent 14-Day Goal Reset Challenge. To be honest, it’s super scary launching anything new - it brings up questions like, is it good enough? Will people like it? Am I good enough?! Oof. So despite those feelings, I am SUPER excited about this. I’ve gone through the process several times, and can tell you that it works. Through the end of the month, I’m offering a 50% discount using code EARLY50. If you want to take it a step further, you can purchase the coaching bundle - which currently costs less than my typical hourly coaching rate. I LOVE to coach, and I love to support people as they move through their journeys with clarity and purpose - so I hope you’ll like this!

What I’m Loving: I have done quite a bit of shopping this month, in preparation for the holiday season. At the same time, I have tried to spend time using the products that I love the most - especially those designed to increase my own wellbeing and bring me joy. Each morning I use these adorable Christmas Mugs and you better believe I’m using my Always Pan every night. Now that I’m wearing makeup more often, I love using this cleansing brush and then settling in with my foot massager. My kids have been loving this pasta set from Melissa & Doug - I just ordered another to give as a gift!

101 in 1001: This month I completed one of my most anticipated items - going to my best friend’s wedding! We also took both kids trick or treating, and I read a couple of books. There are SO many more to complete - but I still absolutely love this practice of focusing on the things that are most important to me.
